It has been a banner year for recalls. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 25 million vehicles have been recalled this year, topping the old record of 24.6 million in 2000.
Even Toyota is getting into the act. Toyota is recalling 92,577 Celicas to fix a problem with its daytime running lamps. According to the Feds, the daytime lamps in the 2000 and 2001 Celicas are too bright.
GM still holds the No. 1 slot this year with 10.5 million vehicles recalled in North America.
