Three Chicago-area dealers say they are being deposed in a lawsuit filed against DaimlerChrysler's finance arm alleging discriminatory lending.
Gerald Gorman, former owner of two Chicago-area dealerships, sued the automaker's finance unit, DaimlerChrysler Services North America LLC, in February 2003.
Gorman, who owned Dodge of Midlothian and Marquette Chrysler-Jeep, alleges financial damage resulting from discriminatory lending practices. The depositions indicate that the suit is moving forward.
The three dealers who confirmed they are being deposed by Gorman's attorney are Michael Christopoulos of Olympic Dodge in Chicago; Patrick Fitzgibbon of South Holland (Ill.) Dodge; and D.J. Jeffers of Suburban Dodge in Berwyn, Ill.
The dealers would not comment on the content of the depositions.
Jeffers says he expects to be deposed before year end. Christopoulos says he is scheduled to be deposed Wednesday, Dec. 8.
