Retail group Asbury Automotive Group Inc. has acquired its third dealership in northern California.
Rodeo Nissan in Clovis, Calif., is Asburys 98th retail store. The dealership will be renamed Nissan of Clovis, the company said Friday.
Asbury, of New York, did not disclose details of the transaction. A spokesperson was unable to say who was the seller.
With the addition of the Nissan store, projected annual revenue from dealerships bought this year will total about $350 million, Asbury said. The chain also owns Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Fresno and Sacramento.
Last year Asbury lost an estimated $4.8 million on its experimental used-car stores at Houston area Wal-Mart stores. In 2003, Asbury reported total revenues of $4.8 billion.
