SEOUL -- Kia will introduce a new five-door version of its Rio lower-medium car at the Geneva auto show in March.
The Rio will have a new design and will be offered with an all-new 1.4-liter gasoline engine, a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, and a 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine.
A four-door version will be shown at the Detroit auto show in January. Both variants will be sold in Europe.
Kia of Korea says it sold 125,844 Rios in foreign markets last year including 43,000 units in Europe and 40,000 in the US.
It plans to launch new versions of its Magentis large-segment car and Carnival/Sedona large minivan late next year.
