BARCELONA, Spain -- Volkswagen will unveil the next-generation Jetta at the Los Angeles auto show in January. VW will start building the Jetta, the sedan version of the Golf, at its Puebla, Mexico, plant in January.
The updated Jetta goes on sale in the United States in March.
VW also will start selling the car in Europe next summer under the Bora nameplate.
The Jetta comes with either a 1.8-liter engine or a new 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine.
VW expects to build 200,000 of the cars annually at the Puebla plant. Of those, 30 percent will be exported to Europe.
