I always find Automotive News informative regarding automotive trends and happenings. I am especially interested in the luxury or premium portion of the industry, as it is the most dynamic and competitive.
However, I have noticed a bias when comparing luxury or premier brands always to include Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Lexus but to exclude Audi as if it did not exist.
A recent issue had articles on the Cadillac STS and Lincoln. The articles compared Cadillac and Lincoln to Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Lexus -- but, as usual, failed to mention Audi.
That is quite interesting, as Cadillac, Lincoln, Jaguar and especially Lexus cannot compete against Audi on a global level. Audi is No. 3 in the world in premier/luxury brand sales, behind Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
That likely will change as Audi begins a dynamic product offensive. Some rightful acknowledgement would be appreciated.
