TOLEDO, Ohio -- Dana Corp. has started production of electric motors and motor-control electronics at a new plant in Nove Mesto nad Vahom, Slovakia.
The plant will produce electric power-assist steering and electro-hydraulic power-assist steering components.
The production is a part of Dana's joint venture with Emerson Electric Co. of St. Louis.
The joint venture company, Dana Emerson Actuator Systems, expects to produce more than 2 million units annually. The plant will employ 300 people by the end of 2005.
Dana of Toledo, Ohio supplies axles, driveshafts, steering and engine power products.
