The National Independent Automobile Dealers Association is blending the Internet and TV to spread news and information about remarketing.
NIADA.TV is the association's online TV network. It provides coverage of industry seminars, training sessions and news to dealers and remarketing professionals. The subscription-based, broadband network went on the air Oct. 18.
The network is the creation of NIADA CEO Mike Linn. Linn, a former executive producer of movies and TV shows, has the same role at NIADA.TV. He calls the network "must-see TV" for his industry.
"You know what dot-coms are," Linn says. "This is dot-TV. It works like real TV, except you can look at whatever programming you want, whenever you want. You just log on to that particular piece of programming and hit 'play,' and there it is."
Linn says NIADA.TV's audience includes independent used-car dealers, franchised dealers, employees of auto auctions and car companies, and anyone else who sells used vehicles.
