DETROIT James Stegemiller, vice president of Hayes Lemmerz International Inc. and president of the companys North American wheel group, will retire Nov. 1.
Edward Kopkowski, 42, vice president and head of Hayes Lemmerzs aftermarket and commercial highway operations, adds Stegemillers responsibilities to his job, the company said Thursday.
Stegemiller, 53, who helped the wheel, braking and suspension supplier reorganize its North American wheel business, has been with the company since 2001. Previously, he was vice president of worldwide operations for ArvinMeritor Inc.
Hayes Lemmerz International of Northville, Mich., ranks No. 43 on the Automotive News list of the top 150 suppliers to North America with North American original-equipment automotive parts sales of $1.03 billion in 2003.
