The Bush administration may thumb its nose at the Kyoto Accord on global warming, but Bill Ford wants to revive it.
According to The New York Times, Bill Ford has asked his top executives to cut carbon dioxide emissions of Ford Motor Co. vehicles by 45 percent in the next 25 years. The ambitious proposal would require Ford Motor to improve fuel economy by 80 percent.
The big question is how to reach the goal. The answer likely involves a combination of lightweight metals, advanced hybrid powertrains and fuel cells.
