NEW YORK -- Sirius Satellite Radio last week said that it agreed to a five-year, $500 million deal with Howard Stern to host a Monday-through-Friday talk show.
Sirius CEO Joseph Clayton said that Stern also will produce two other programs that could have comedy or music formats.
Stern's contract with Sirius is worth about $100 million a year. That figure includes salary and costs for production, staff, talent, marketing, overhead and studio construction. Sirius estimates that it must generate a million subscribers to cover the costs.
