The redesigned 2005 Acura RL sedan will carry a sticker price of $49,470, including a $570 destination charge. That is a $3,595 bump over the comparably equipped 2004 model, or a 7.2 percent increase.
A navigation system is standard on the 2005 RL, but had been a $2,345 option on the 2004 model. The destination charge on the 2004 model was $545. No factory installed options are available on the new RL, which goes on sale Oct. 14.
Sticker prices in Alaska and Hawaii will be $735 less, to reflect the deletion of XM Satellite radio and the Acuralink in-vehicle communication system for those states.
Acura said it wants to sell about 20,000 RLs a year in the United. In 2003, the company sold 6,829 RLs.
Features for the 2005 Acura RL include a 300-horsepower V-6 engine, all-wheel drive and a five-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
