GOODWOOD, England -- Rolls-Royce is targeting India's new rich as part of its global sales expansion.
Once upon a time, Rolls-Royce models were one of the favorite toys of India's maharaja rulers.
Currently Delhi, Bombay and the software and computer center Bangalore, where the number of millionaires is constantly rising, are being examined as possible locations for new dealerships.
Rolls-Royce plans to increase its dealer network worldwide from 65 to 70 next year and will open a new branch in the French capital during this month's Paris auto show.
The British luxury carmaker also will add a dealership in Kiev, Ukraine, by the end of this year.
Rolls-Royce already has a showroom in Moscow, which opened in March.
