Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist has been mentioned as a possible contender for the Republican nomination for president in 2008. But he may have gotten off to a shaky start on the bedrock of the auto industry.
Addressing Michigan delegates and politicians during a reception at last week's GOP national convention, the Tennessee senator complimented his hosts' state as the industry's top territory. But he quickly added: "Watch out for Tennessee! Watch out for Tennessee!"
He was roundly booed.
