DETROIT -- Oxford Automotive Inc. has named David Treadwell its CEO.
Treadwell, 50, replaces John Potter, who retired in June.
The cash-strapped supplier has been trying to sell plants to help finance a $1.3 billion Mercedes-Benz contract in Alabama.
Treadwell was CEO of Prechter Holdings and chairman of its ASC Inc. unit when he left in May 2002. Since then, he has been a consultant.
Oxford of Troy, Mich., supplies structural components, assemblies and suspension modules.
