The Chrysler group is shipping to dealers 1,500 units of a special edition 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Dream Series 4.
Chrysler announced the vehicle Tuesday. The timing coincides with the Woodward Dream Cruise in metropolitan Detroit Saturday, Aug. 21.
The 2.4-liter turbocharged dual-overhead-cam 16-valve four cylinder engine generates 220 horsepower at 5100 rpm. The unit is painted a deep red with a maroon cloth convertible top.
Series 4 carries a $30,260 sticker when equipped with a five-speed manual transaxle. The automatic model is $30,700. Both prices include destination charge.
Series 4 marks the ninth factory-customized version of the PT Cruiser since its launch in 2000. The new unit joins the Flames, Woodie, PT Dream Cruiser Series 1,2 and 3, the PT turbo, the chrome accent models and the convertible, the company says.
