DETROIT - Visteon Corp. said Friday, Aug. 13, that it would sell the assets of its components assembly operation in Chicago to Plastech Engineered Products Inc., a minority-owned supplier in Dearborn, Mich.
Neither company would disclose terms.
The plant does final assembly and sequencing of front-end modules, cockpit systems, fuel-storage systems and climate systems for the 2005 Ford Freestyle, Ford Five Hundred and Mercury Montego.
The plant is owned by a Ford Motor Co. joint venture. The plant's 270 employees will be offered jobs with Plastech.
