Your July 5 article on the decline in sales of two-seaters is not accurate ("Summer's a bummer for 2-seaters"). There has been a decline in the roadster (convertible) portion of the market, but the overall two-seater market is up.
The growth has been in coupes. The Mazda RX-8, Nissan 350Z and Chrysler Crossfire coupes have expanded the two-seater segment but have taken a bite out of the roadster group.
Apparently, as the baby boomers age, they are leaning toward coupes that are more comfort oriented. Also, those new vehicles are less expensive than traditional German sports cars.
