Automotive News Europe's coverage of the 2003 IAA in Frankfurt earned the publication a silver prize for best single issue in the Tabbies Awards.
The inaugural competition, organized by Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI), was open to English-language trade, association and business publications from around the world. Publications in 40 countries were invited to compete.
The best single issue category drew the most entries. Judges ranked the top 25 publications.
The judges praised the September 22, 2003, issue for its "great reporting" and its mix of interesting stories.
Accountancy Age, which is based in the UK, took the gold for best single issue. Third place went to U.S.-based Modern Healthcare, a sister publication of Automotive News Europe. Both trade newspapers are published by Crain Communications.
