UnitedAuto Group, a US-based dealership group, is expanding aggressively in Europe.
In July, it acquired nine dealerships plus a 75 percent interest in 10 other sales outlet in Europe.
It also added seven dealerships in the US in July.
UnitedAuto Group spokesman Tony Pordon said that, as automakers are global, "we felt we needed to be global as well."
UnitedAuto will seek additional acquisitions in Europe.
Pordon said European franchises are low-priced and the strong euro has not slowed UnitedAuto's buying.
More than 20 percent of the company's revenue is from overseas operations.
UnitedAuto of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, has dealerships in 20 US states and continues to make acquisitions in major US markets.
