Intermet Corp. president and CEO Gary Ruff has been named chairman of the board, replacing John Doddridge, who will retire effective immediately.
Doddridge, 63, a former Dana executive, stepped down as CEO in July 2003. He will remain on the board as a member, the company said Thursday. Doddridge had been chairman since 1994.
Ruff, 52, joined the company in 1999 as vice president of technical services and later became executive vice president of technical services. Intermet Corp. is a Troy, Mich. based supplier of cast- and automotive powertrain components.
Intermet is 69 on the Automotive News ranking of top suppliers to North American automakers in 2002 with $578 million in sales.
