Poor GTO sales? It's all in the name.
As a car enthusiast, watching the Pontiac GTO hit the market has been interesting. The low sales numbers are not surprising. Here is my take on the intro:
If General Motors is announcing a new high-output sports car with rear-wheel drive, manual transmission and a spacious interior, count me in. My interest level is extremely high.
Unveil a nondescript car and I am still OK. The car is not bad looking; it's just kind of average. But, tell me that this car is a GTO, and I just laugh. Credibility is gone. The car falls off my radar screen.
By the way, weren't the original GTOs a little more affordable?
