CHICAGO -- Auto dealership group Lithia Motors Inc. said Tuesday that its fourth-quarter earnings grew as it boosted new-car sales.
Lithia said it earned $10.0 million, or 53 cents a share, compared with $7.3 million, or 40 cents a share, a year ago.
Income from continuing operations rose to $9.9 million, or 52 cents a share, from $7.5 million, or 41 cents a share.
Sales increased 10 percent to $612.2 million from $557.3 million.
Lithia said it expects to earn 29 cents to 31 cents a share in the fiscal first quarter, with 2004 earnings of $1.95 to $2.05.
