SEOUL -- Kia will begin European sales of its Picanto minicar in April.
The Picanto was unveiled at the IAA in Frankfurt in September. It starts with 1.0- and 1.1-liter gasoline engines. A three-cylinder 1.1-liter turbodiesel will follow in mid-2005.
The Picanto is key to Kia's goal of 300,000 European sales by 2005. The subsidiary of Hyundai sold 149,021 vehicles in Europe last year. Its target this year is 205,300 units.
