I note that you have changed the vehicle segmentation (ANE, February 9) for sales analysis. This is all very well, but as a supplier to Honda UK for the Civic, I cannot now see the sales figures for this vehicle as it does not appear in the top 10 of its segment.
The previous format showed all makes and models, allowing us to see which vehicle had the biggest impact on our market. A new model launched mid-2003, for example, may not appear in the top 10 for total 2003 sales, but could dramatically impact sales of our vehicle toward the end of the year.
Also, how will monthly figures be shown in future?
Editor's note: The revised vehicle segmentation used for sales analysis (February 9, pages 18-19) is part of an expanded ANE data service. It will be published quarterly. The makeup of each of the 20 segments is subject to adjustment. ANE will, of course, continue to publish monthly sales and production tables for western Europe that contain model-level data so readers can prepare their own analysis. Starting this issue (Page 37), ACEA monthly sales figures are expanding to include eight of the 10 countries that will join the European Union May 1.
