DETROIT - Controversy forced Dodge to pull its sponsorship of the Lingerie Bowl. Now Pontiac is making its own foray into a skin-tight promotion. A Webcast this week of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue party, billed as the "sexiest party live from New York City," will be sponsored by the Pontiac GTO. The online event will include swimsuit models, interviews and "behind the scenes" footage.
"We think Sports Illustrated has a tradition of tasteful presentation, and they do things that don't push the standards past the norm," Pontiac spokesman Jim Hopson said. "We feel this is not an issue like the Lingerie Bowl or the fallout from the Super Bowl."
