OnStar and XM Satellite Radio will be turned on in vehicles when they arrive at General Motors dealerships so that salespeople can demonstrate the services easily to shoppers.
Chet Huber, president of OnStar, said in an interview at the NADA convention that customers in a pilot program liked the demonstration of basic OnStar services.
The company will launch the automated demonstration program this year, he said.

Huber said that GM is intrigued by the possibility of combined subscription pricing for OnStar and XM.
One option could be family plans similar to those offered by cellular phone companies.
Said Huber: "It's not something we're doing yet - 'yet' is the operative word."
