MONTVALE, N.J. - Mercedes-Benz USA LLC's ELITE technician training program, established for entry-level technicians, has graduated its 1,000th student.
The ELITE program lasts four months and is modeled on German apprentice programs.
A student has to complete a Master National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation-certified secondary automotive program. Candidates are selected after a review of their qualifications and an interview process.
Accepted students participate in the ELITE program at one of five U.S. training centers: Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; Houston; Orlando, Fla.; Glendale Heights, Ill.; and Allentown, Pa.
Each student's tuition is paid by Mercedes-Benz dealers.
