WARSAW -- The Polish government has received several bids to take over the troubled Daewoo-FSO car plant.
The Polish treasury ministry invited investors, including Volkswagen and MG Rover, to submit bids by February 5.
A ministry spokesperson said several companies had responded but would not release names.
MG Rover has been interested in Daewoo-FSO for several years, but has been unable to agree on acquisition terms.
Daewoo-FSO was left out in the cold after General Motors took over South Korea's bankrupt Daewoo Motor operations in 2002.
