U.S. shipments of motor homes rose 2.3 percent to 4,500 in November, while conversion shipments dropped sharply.
Class A motor homes rose 3.2 percent to 3,200 units.
Class Cs jumped 9.1 percent to 1,200 units.
Class B motor homes, which represented the smallest portion of motor home shipments, bucked the segment's upward trend, slipping 50 percent to 100 units.
Motor home shipments for the first 11 months of 2003 were up 0.7 percent.
Conversion vehicle shipments in November were down 35.2 percent, marking the segment's ninth consecutive month of year-over-year decline.
A total of 3,500 units were shipped.
Van conversions dropped 23.5 percent to 2,600 units. Pickup conversions were down 42.9 percent to 800 units.
SUV conversions, which represented the smallest portion of conver-sion shipments, took the segment's largest percentage decline, falling 83.3 percent to 100 units. Conversion shipments for the first 11 months of 2003 were down 15.5 percent.
