LIPPSTADT, Germany - Three auto suppliers, Hella KG Hueck & Co., Behr GmbH and Plastic Omnium, have formed a joint venture to produce automotive front-end modules.
The venture will be called HBPO. Its headquarters will be in Lippstadt, Germany, but the companies plan to have a r&d center in Lyon, France.
Each supplier will hold equal shares in the new company.
The company, which will begin operations this year, is expected to have sales of $425 million this year, according to the companies.
Hella, of Lippstadt, Germany, supplies lighting, electrical systems and modules. Behr, of Stuttgart, supplies heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems and front-end modules. Plastic Omnium, of Paris, supplies automotive exterior components, fuel tanks and bumper fascias.
