DETROIT-- Ford family member Elena Ford will assume a new role at Ford Motor Co. on Oct. 1. She is leaving her post as director of business strategy for international operations, to become director of product marketing for Ford Division.
The move marks Elena Ford's return to Ford Division, where she held several positions after she joined the company in 1995.
Elena Ford, 37, replaces Marty Collins, who becomes general marketing manager of Ford Division on Sept. 1. Collins takes that job over from Francisco Codina, who recently was appointed vice president of Ford's customer service division.
In her new position, Elena Ford will work closely with dealers on determining cycle plans, packaging product features and planning advanced vehicle marketing strategies.
Before her international post, Elena Ford was Mercury group marketing manager, where she also worked closely with dealers. She helped plan for four new Mercury vehicles while in that job. Elena Ford is a cousin of CEO Bill Ford and a great-great granddaughter of company founder Henry Ford.
