CHICAGO -- Tower Automotive Inc. CFO Ernie Thomas has resigned.
Tower did not give a reason for Thomas' departure but said it has begun searching for a successor, according to Reuters. Thomas joined the company as CFO in November.
The Grand Rapids, Mich., maker of automotive body structures, frames and chassis modules said it believes its finance team is sufficient to manage during the transition.
The resignation of Thomas comes two weeks after Tower named Kathleen Ligocki as its CEO to replace retiring CEO Dugald Campbell.
Ligocki previously was vice president of Ford Motor Co.'s customer service division.
With $2.1 billion in sales to North America last year, Tower ranks No. 19 on the Automotive News list of the top 150 suppliers to automakers in North America in 2002.
