About 15 Oldsmobile dealers have sued General Motors over the division's closure, but most suits won't go to trial soon.
Lawyer Richard Sox of Tallahassee, Fla., says that his firm is handling 14 suits and that he is aware of two others.
Most suits challenge the compensation GM has offered, Sox says. Trials are probably more than a year away, he says.
GM spokeswoman Brenda Rios says most s dealers have signed termination deals. Oldsmobile had 2,801 dealerships in December 2000, when GM announced plans to close the division. She says GM has agreements with 2,515 dealerships and 50 negotiations are in process.
