Class C motor home shipments plunged 10.5 percent in June, dragging down the motor home category in the United States for the month.
U.S. shipments of motor homes fell 3.4 percent in June, compared with the year-ago month. Class A and Class B motor homes remained stable at 3,700 and 200 units respectively, while Class C shipments fell to 1,700, from 1,900 in June 2002.
First-half shipments of motor homes were down 1.9 percent to 30,200 units.
Conversion vehicle shipments in June were down 21 percent to 4,900 units.
SUV conversions, which account for the smallest portion of the segment, fell 40 percent to 300 units. Pickup conversions fell 37.5 percent to 1,000 units, and van conversion dropped 12.2 percent to 3,600 units.
Shipments of conversions for the year through June were down 7.7 percent.
