PARIS -- Renault said on Friday it was planning to set up a joint spare parts warehouse with its partner Nissan in Hungary by the end of 2004.
Renault said in a statement the warehouse was being built in Gyor, Hungary and would deliver parts for Renault to Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia, and for Nissan to Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia.
The warehouse would meet buoyant demand for cars and parts in the region and that regional warehouses in Austria would be closed, the car maker said.
The French firm has boosted sales in central Europe by 5.6 percent in the first five months of the year while Nissan sales rose 16 percent, it said.
Renault owns 44.4 percent of Nissan and the two have forged money-spinning industrial tie-ups, including sharing parts.
