Bruce Swift has resigned from the Linamar Corp. board of directors just one month after his appointment.
Swift announced June 5 that he was leaving the top post at Covisint LLC to become president of Metaldyne Inc.'s driveline and transmission group.
Linamar, based in Guelphi, Ontario, competes with Metaldyne, which is based in Plymouth, Mich. In announcing Swift's resignation June 13, Linamar CEO Linda Hasenfratz noted that Swift has gone to an industry competitor.
Swift was appointed to the Linamar board at the company's annual meeting on May 13th, 2003. Linamar ranks No. 56 on the Automotive News list of biggest original equipment parts suppliers to North America. The company produces engine, transmission, driveline, brake, steering and suspension components.
