STOCKHOLM - Autoliv Inc. has acquired the steering wheel assets of Nippon Steering Industries, of Hiroshima, Japan.
Nippon Steering Industries is a joint venture between privately held Japanese automotive parts company KIW and Autoliv's wholly owned steering wheel company in Japan, Autoliv-Izumi.
Autoliv also acquired KIW's assets in steering wheels. The operations acquired have 100 employees and had nearly $20 million in sales last year.
Autoliv, of Stockholm, supplies safety systems for the automotive industry.
