Aisan Bitron Europe is expanding its operations in Louny, Czech Republic, and adding a second plant adjacent to its original factory.
The Japan-based firm started building electric fuel pumps at its first plant a year ago. The fuel pumps are primarily for the European market, said General Affairs Manager Jaroslav Antos, including parts for Ergom, Bitron, and Magneti Marelli. The company plans to add a third shift by year end, boosting employees from 135 to about 200 and increasing sales this year to 14.4 million.
The second plant will start producing electronic throttle valve housings and die castings by year-end. Both plants are assembly-only facilities using Japanese designs.
