Kiyoshi Fujiwara, 43, has been named vice president of Mazda European research and development and production in Oberursel, Germany.
This is the latest in a series of executive changes. Fujiwara replaces Akira Marumoto, who is returning to Japan as general manager of platform and product management.
Mazda also announced that James Muir, now managing director of Mazda UK, will become vice president for sales in Europe. Muir replaces Dan Morris, who was named president of Mazda Europe earlier in May. Morris in turn replaced Stephen Odell, who is returning to Japan to head Mazda's worldwide sales, marketing and customer service.
