MG ROVER -- Alfonso Saavedra, 53, has been appointed managing director of MG Rover Espana. He succeeds Jacques Muller, who is retiring after 24 years in the job.
Saavedra joins MG Rover Espana from Kia France, where he was managing director.

GENERAL MOTORS EUROPE -- Tony Cervone, 40, will join GM Europe as executive vice president, communications, on July 1. He is currently executive director, executive financial communications, at GM Corp. in Detroit.
In his new role, Cervone will replace Marc Beckers, 47, who has been appointed executive director, product communications at GM Corp.
In Europe, Cervone will coordinate external and internal communications for Opel, Vauxhall, Saab and GM Daewoo Europe.
RABA -- Hungarian axle and gearbox supplier Raba named veteran engineer Istvan Pinter, 45, as CEO.
Pinter, who joined Raba in 1980, replaces Laszlo Steiner, who resigned following criticism of Raba's financial performance by the municipality of Gyor, one of the company's main shareholders.
The strong Hungarian forint and the global economic downturn have hit Raba hard, with revenues falling by a third last year to about E160 million.
HEINRICH GILLET -- German exhaust systems maker Heinrich Gillet named Ulrich Mehlmann CEO.
Mehlmann replaces Timothy Jackson, who had been CEO since April 2000. Mehlmann was director of the worldwide manufacturing and quality department at Delphi Diesel Systems.
Heinrich Gillet, a European unit of US supplier maker Tenneco Automotive, has 3,300 employees at 18 production sites in eight different countries in Europe, as well as two plants in South Africa.
