Sirius Satellite Radio will be an option on 10 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury 2004 vehicles, Ford Motor Co. says.
The dealer-installed option will be available in September on the Ford Thunderbird, Mustang, Explorer, Sport Trac and Expedition; the Lincoln Navigator, Aviator and LS; and the Mercury Mountaineer. The service will be available on the Lincoln Town Car in December.
Land Rover, Volvo, Jaguar and Aston Martin models will be added to the list of vehicles that offers Sirius, but Ford did not disclose details on timing.
The price of the satellite radio equipment and installation will be about $300, Ford says.
Customers who sign up for the option will not have to pay an activation fee and will receive 30 days of free service. The monthly subscription price for Sirius is $12.95. The service has more than 100 channels, of which 60 offer commercial-free music.
