Sirius Satellite Radio will be an option on 10 2004 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles, Ford Motor Co. said Tuesday.
The dealer-installed option will be available in September on the Ford Thunderbird, Mustang, Explorer, Sport Trac and Expedition; the Lincoln Navigator, Aviator and LS; and the Mercury Mountaineer. The service will be available on the Lincoln Town Car in December.
Land Rover, Volvo, Jaguar and Aston Martin models will be added to the list of vehicles that offer Sirius, but Ford would not disclose details on timing.
The price of the satellite radio equipment and installation will be about $300, Ford said.
People who sign up for the option will not have to pay an activation fee and will receive 30 days of free service. The monthly subscription price for Sirius is $12.95. The service has more than 100 channels, of which 60 are commercial-free music.
