DETROIT - The Chrysler group remains in negotiations with the federal and provincial governments of Canada about financial incentives for a proposed new assembly plant in Windsor, Ontario.
"No decisions have been made," says Buzz Hargrove, president of the Canadian Auto Workers. "They are still negotiating."
Wolfgang Bernhard, COO of the Chrysler group, had said April 2 that the company hoped to wrap up talks by the end of that month.
But Chrysler group spokesman Mike Aberlich now says the company has not imposed a specific deadline on the talks.
"We have said all along we want to get it done in the first half of the year. That is still the hope," Aberlich said. "We are still talking."
