General Motors has appointed Roger Adams general manager of its Buick and Pontiac-GMC divisions, the automaker said on Friday.
He replaces Kurt Ritter, who resigned from GM in April to head the Saatchi & Saatchi advertising agencys Los Angeles office.
Adams was general manager of GM Customer Network, which is the automaker's customer relationship marketing group. Jack Bowen replaces Adams in that role. Bowen was general director of GM's Credit Card operations.
In his new role, Adams continues to report to John Middlebrook, vice president of vehicle brand marketing and corporate advertising.
Lynn Myers, divisional marketing general manager of Pontiac-GMC, reports to Adams.
Adams, 47, joined GM in 1996 as Buick Regal brand manager. He joined GM from Keebler Co.
Bowen, 43, joined GM in 1996 as Buick's advertising director. He also was Buick Rendezvous brand manager. Before working with GM, Bowen was with Leo Burnett U.S.A.
