BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems, a unit of BorgWarner Inc., on Monday named Douglas Owenby vice president of operations for its Muncie, Ind. plant.
Owenby, 42, reports to TorqTransfer president John McGill.
He joins BorgWarner from Bombardier Motor Corp. of Benton, Ill., where he was vice president and general manager. He also has worked for Eaton Torque Control Products Division and Delphi Automotive Systems, now Delphi Corp.
The Muncie plant is BorgWarner's largest in North America.
Owenby replaces Ron McCoy, who left BorgWarner late last year.
Mark Perlick, vice president of engineering for the unit, had taken on responsibility for plant operations while the position was open.
BorgWarner Inc. of Chicago ranks No. 29 on Automotive News' list of the Top 150 original equipment parts suppliers to North America. The company had $1.5 billion in original equipment auto parts sales in 2002.
