BMW has changed its product strategy substantially since acquiring Rover in the UK. Chairman Bernd Pischetsrieder said BMW will:
· Have a BMW sport-utility built in America
· Probably sell the Rover Mini at BMW dealerships
· Build a super-luxury car if it does not buy Rolls-Royce
· Build more convertibles.
Britain wants to introduce transport legislation to force drivers off London's congested roads. But a man from the ministry insisted the idea will go nowhere. "Remember," he says, "car drivers are voters."
The chairman of Daewoo group said he might sell half of Daewoo Motor to General Motors.
