To the Editor:
Edward Lapham's March 3 column, "Time for AIADA to fade away," was right on target. I have questioned the reason for the American International Automobile Dealers Association for 10 years.
It should merge with the National Automobile Dealers Association and give all dealers a stronger, one-voice organization.
An additional comment: One of AIADA's practices is to notify our manufacturer each year if we do not send a check for our dues. The manufacturer then asks the dealer to sign a release. The manufacturer then pays the dues and charges the dealer through his open account.
If dues were paid voluntarily, maybe AIADA wouldn't have half the members it now counts.
