Lear Corp. on Friday said that William Pumphrey has taken the role of president of the interior supplier's DaimlerChrysler division.
In his new position, Pumphrey is responsible for overseeing Lear's business with DaimlerChrysler AG. He replaces Charles Fisher, who left Lear in February.
Pumphrey, 43, was president of Lear's Ford operations in Europe, a position he held since February 2002. Lear has not revealed who will replace Pumphrey. With 2001 North American original equipment parts sales of $7.9 billion, Lear of Southfield, Mich., ranks No. 4 on Automotive News' list of the Top 150 original equipment parts suppliers to North America in 2001.
