German car body manufacturer Karosseriewerke Dresden (KWD) won an order to produce high-quality plate parts for Volkswagen group's Bentley luxury brand beginning in April.
Last year, KWD invested E5 million on a high-tech press that will be used for stamping car body components for the next-generation VW Golf. KWD said it will also invest in car parts production equipment for the next-generation VW Passat.
Besides VW, DaimlerChrysler and Porsche are among KWD's customers. KWD had sales of E100 million last year and said it expects a 10 percent increase for 2003 despite the economic slowdown.
KWD employs 430 at its headquarters in Radeberg, eastern Germany.
